October 30, 2012 - Precision is set to perform work on the new Paint Shop Facility at BMW's Greer, SC facility.  Precision will be working with Walbridge to construct this new 600,000 square foot building.  Precision's scope of work includes foundations, foundation walls, pits, trenches, high tolerance specialty floors, slabs on metal deck, concrete sealers and waterproofing.

October 18, 2012 - Precision was recently awarded the concrete flatwork package for the new BMW Body Shop in Greer, SC.  Precision will be tasked with installing 300,000 square foot of building floors in a four week time frame.  In addition to the slab on grade, Precision will also be installing the concrete paving, slab on metal deck, exterior equipment pads and dock leveler pits.  The project will be the third Precision has performed for Walbridge in the last several years after successfully working together on the Volkswagen Paint Shop and Bridgestone Tire Facility. 
 
October 16, 2012 - Precision will be working with Van Winkle Construction on the new 12 Stone facility in Duluth, GA.  The work consists of 70,000 square foot of new facility space.  The concrete package will include foundations, basement walls, elevated structural slabs, and concrete slabs on metal deck.  In addition to the building work, Precision is currently working on the detention pond walls which consist of 500 lineal feet of 22 foot tall concrete walls.
 
October 15, 2012 - Precision Concrete has been awarded the concrete work for a new pharmaceutical facility in Athens, GA.  Ethicon, a subsidiary or Johnson & Johnson, will be constructing a new 100,000 square foot manufacturing facility.  Precision will be working for another repeat client, Gilbane Building Company.  The concrete work includes foundations, basement walls, trenches, high-tolerance concrete floors, slab on metal deck and site paving.
 
October 3, 2012 - Precision was recently awarded the foundation and first floor package for the fifth phase of the Emory University freshman dormitories with New South Construction.  Precision will be responsible for installing the foundations, basement walls, slab on grade and the elevated post-tensioned slab over the parking garage.  Work is scheduled to commence in December of 2012 and complete by March of 2013.
 
Precision Awarded Alcon Ciba Vision with General Contractor Hunt Construction Group.  The project is a manufacturing building expansion for contact lens manufacturing capabilities.  The expansion footprint is approximately 26,000 square foot with a basement slab on grade and retaining walls with two metal deck levels above.  A 7,500 square foot exterior tank farm structure is also being built during the building expansion.  It involves a lower pit mat foundation with surrounding walls that support a reinforced elevated slab with beams which is approximately 1,500 square foot.  Above the pit slab is approximately 7,500 square foot of mat foundation, knee walls and piers to support tanks.  Two exterior site retaining walls are also included in the scope.  
 
Precision Awarded UNCC Residence Hall X - General Contractor Edifice, Inc. Designed by Clark Nexsen of Charlotte, the 178,000 square foot, 400 bed residence facility will include lounge/study rooms, laundry facilities, and multi-purpose rooms.  The building site will provide ADA compliant parking as well as areas for service related vehicles.  The building exterior will utilize brick and precast concrete to blend with the existing campus architecture.  This project is designed to meet LEED certification. 
 
Precision moves up to 20th place in Commercial Concrete Construction in the 2012 issue of Concrete Construction, the official publication of the World of Concrete. This is up from last year’s rank of 32nd. (Ratings based on 2011 revenue).
 
 
Precision Awarded Johnson City Medical Center. HKS, Inc. is serving as designer for a $65 million surgery tower addition to Johnson City Medical Center. The 98,000-square foot, multi-story building will house new operating rooms, pre-op and post-op areas, a reception area and administrative spaces. Located in the Tri-Cities region of northeast Tennessee, Johnson City Medical (JCMC is the flagship hospital in the Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) system.
 
 
Precision is nearing completion of the MTU Tognum expansion located in Graniteville, South Carolina. The project consists of an 8,000 square foot test cell building with 52 foot tall elevator and stair shear walls and 36 foot tall concrete walls that will enclose the diesel engines being tested here. A 6,000 square foot mechanical building and utility bridge are also included with the project. Precision Concrete previously completed the MTU Diesel production facility in 2010.
 
 
Precision has completed Chick-fil-A’s new I.T. warehouse expansion and interior renovation. The project consisted of a 9,000 square foot slab on grade and elevated slab addition. The project included 30” diameter architectural concrete columns that stand 22’-0” tall. 27,000 square feet of stained concrete floors were also completed by Precision.
 
 
Precision has passed the mid point of construction on the 2nd place of the Clearwater Paper Project. This is a large industrial building in Shelby, N.C.; where paper products will be manufactured. Phase I included a large retaining wall spanning the length of the plant. Phase II consists of spread footings, piers, vaults, trench drains, crash wall, foundation pads for heavy equipment, and slab on grade. The General Contractor is Edifice, Inc.
 
 
Precision has been awarded the concrete package for the St. Francis Hospital project in Columbus, Georgia. This project is a $110 million expansion that includes a four-story, 189,000 square foot Clinical Services Building on the back side of the main hospital structure and a four story, 169,000 square foot Medical Office Building. Both buildings have been designed so that 4 additional floors could be added in the future. In addition to the 2 new buildings, the Central Energy Plant has 1,100 square foot of addition and renovation, the Cardiovascular ICU consists of 11,825 square foot of new addition and the Medical ICU consists of 1925 square foot of new addition. Site improves include new retaining walls, stamped concrete drives, sidewalks, and added paved parking lots. Skanska serves as the Construction Manager and General Contractor. The architect is Howell Rusk Dodson and the structural engineer is Wright Engineering.
